About JanetteI love creating beautiful images. There are times in every day when the light is magical and the moment is perfect and it all comes together to capture the beauty and the love that fill our lives. I love being able to save those moments in an image so they can be revisited and remembered in the weeks and months and years ahead.
My photography tells a story. Your story. Not in spite of, but because of all of the mess and complication and chaos and imperfection, there is beauty that is worth remembering. Photos help us to take a step back and breathe in all that is good in our day to day lives and in our milestone moments. |
Who I Am
|
I am a photographer and an elementary school teacher. I've taught for 19 years in schools all over the world, and along the way have grown in both my skill and my love of photography. Being able to connect and communicate with children and their families in the school setting has spilled over into my work as a photographer and helps me to predict and capture those small moments and little expressions that make life so beautiful.

Things I Love
|
I love coffee. It's hard to live in Seattle and not love coffee. I usually drink it without cream or sugar or extra flavors and just enjoy all of its natural goodness.
I love art and dance and poetry, but I'm also a bit of a nerd and can spend hours reading and researching the latest findings about how our brains function or the behavior of light. I love to travel. I've taught in Guatemala, China, Hungary, Turkey, and Morocco and delighted to visit so many other places as well. Traveling and meeting people around the world and learning their stories are some of my greatest joys. I love my camera. But you probably guessed that one already. |
